Living Out God’s Purpose in Your Life
I want to remind you of something today that may feel bigger than you, but it’s the truth: you are here to change the world.
Now I know what you might be thinking—“Me? Change the world? I’m not important enough. I don’t have the resources. I don’t have the influence.” But God doesn’t call us based on what we think we have. He calls us because of what He’s placed inside of us.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
If you belong to Christ, you are light. And light always changes the atmosphere around it.
God’s Calling Is Bigger Than Comfort
When God saves us, He doesn’t just rescue us from sin—He calls us into purpose. And that purpose is always bigger than our comfort.
Too many times we think being a Christian is just about going to church, singing songs, and waiting for heaven. But that’s not what Jesus died for. He died to bring heaven to earth through His people.
That means your life has eternal impact. Your words, your actions, your prayers—they carry weight. They touch lives you may never even realize.
Changing the World Starts With Obedience
Sometimes we think “changing the world” means doing something massive—starting a movement, preaching to crowds, or going overseas. But most of the time, it starts with simple obedience.
Obedience to love your neighbor.Obedience to forgive someone who hurt you.Obedience to share your testimony.Obedience to step out in faith when God says, “Go.”
John 14:23 says, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
Every act of obedience invites God’s presence into your situation—and His presence changes everything.
Don’t Underestimate Your Influence
The enemy wants you to believe that your life doesn’t matter, that you’re too small to make a difference. But that’s a lie.
Think about the boy with the five loaves and two fish. All he had was a small lunch, but when he placed it in Jesus’ hands, it fed thousands. (John 6:1–14)
That’s what God does. He takes what we have—no matter how small it looks—and multiplies it for His glory.
So don’t underestimate the impact of a prayer, a kind word, a smile, a simple act of faithfulness. Those things ripple further than you’ll ever see.
World-Changers Walk by Faith
Changing the world is not about having all the answers. It’s about trusting the One who does.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Faith is what allows ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Faith is what makes you step out when you don’t see the whole picture. Faith is what gives you the courage to speak up, to stand strong, and to keep going even when it’s hard.
World-changers aren’t fearless—they just fear God more than they fear failure.
Being Different Makes the Difference
If you want to change the world, you can’t blend in with it.
Romans 12:2 tells us, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
The world doesn’t need another copy of itself—it needs a reflection of Christ. That means being willing to stand apart, even if it’s uncomfortable.
Sometimes the very thing that makes you stand out is the thing God uses to shine His light the brightest.
Living for God’s Glory, Not Ours
At the end of the day, changing the world is not about us. It’s not about building our name, our brand, or our platform. It’s about making His name known.
1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
That means in the workplace, in your family, in your friendships, in the way you handle struggles—everything becomes an opportunity to glorify Him.
When people look at you and see Jesus, that’s when the world starts to change.
You’re Part of God’s Bigger Story
Here’s what I know: God doesn’t waste lives. If you are here, alive, and breathing, it’s because He still has purpose for you.
You’re not here by accident. You’re not here just to survive. You’re here to make a difference. You’re here to carry His light. You’re here to change the world—one act of faith, one step of obedience, one life at a time.
Final Thought
So let me ask you this: are you willing to be used by God? Are you willing to step outside of comfort and into calling?
Because the truth is, it’s not about being the smartest, the richest, or the most powerful. It’s about being available.
World-changers are simply people who say “yes” to God. And when you say yes, He takes your life, your gifts, your story—and He uses them in ways you could never imagine.
So don’t doubt yourself. Don’t underestimate what God has placed inside of you.
You are here to change the world. And with Him, you will.
