The Power of Belief

As I stood before the mountain, I saw something striking. The top of the mountain was dark, bearing the marks of fire. The rocks on the outside were blackened, but when chipped away, the inside was brown. This was evidence of fire and smoke having once covered the mountain. It reminded me of the moment when God descended upon Mount Sinai like a furnace, shaking the earth with His presence (Exodus 19:18).

Seeing that mountain made me think about faith—what we believe shapes everything about us. My encouragement to you today is to live by faith and to hold fast to what God wants you to believe.

What Does God Want You to Believe?

God desires that we believe in His Son, Jesus Christ—that He died for our sins, rose from the dead, and sits at the right hand of God. He is coming back again. That is the truth we stand on.

God has a plan for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 declares, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope." Yet, so many of us struggle to fully believe that. We let doubt creep in. We listen to the voices of the world instead of the Word of God. But let me tell you—God does not change.

God's Truth Never Changes

The world constantly shifts its definitions of truth. I think back to my school days when we were taught there were nine planets in the solar system. Then, years later, they decided Pluto wasn’t a planet anymore. What happened? Scientists changed their minds. But here’s the thing: God’s truth does not change. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). If God has spoken something, it remains true forever.

When God gives you a promise, that promise is secure. He does not lie (Numbers 23:19). But often, we struggle to take Him at His Word. We question, we hesitate, and we hold back.

Ask, Seek, Knock

Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:7, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." If you don’t ask, you won’t receive. If you don’t seek, you won’t find. If you don’t knock, the door will remain closed.

God wants to give us His kingdom, yet many of us remain on the outside, not even stepping into the foyer. He has given us the keys to unlock so many doors, but we leave them locked because we don’t believe enough to use them. Faith is the key. "Without faith, it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 11:6).

Walking in Faith

My prayer for you today is that you develop such a hunger for God that it drives you to seek truth like never before. That you become so eager to know Him that you study, ask questions, and knock on every door He has prepared for you. The kingdom of God is vast, filled with opportunities, wisdom, and revelation, but it requires faith to step into it.

So, will you believe today? Will you take God at His Word and walk in faith? Trust in Him, because His truth never changes, and His love for you is everlasting.

Amen.
